Leia waved a hand as she disappeared into the room. Knowing his face had fallen she but her lip, refusing to look him in the eyes. Because of her his hopes had risen. She too had hoped it would be someone else. She laid the girl down on her bed, gingerly sitting beside her. A small hand grasped the girls as she studied her. She hoped the girl was alright, although she tried to think of what to do noe that spades and heart was after them.
Kasper watched her from his position on the wall by the door. His gaze traveled up when he walked in the room. "Hey boss." He said when he noticed Leia hadn't heard him enter. His brow furrowed, what could possibly be on her mind. Huffing he nodded at him before walking out. He had done what agreed to-and more. There was no reason to stick around at the moment.

Auguste offered a smile, carrying a tray. "Welcome back. There's some lunch in the oven if you're hungry." Turbines as he walked out, he carried the tray to the nightstand, looking at Alyse.
"What had happened?" He asked, looking over at Leia.
Alyse stirred a little in her sleep, responding to Leia's touch with a twitch of her hand.

Kasper nodded before heading to the kitchen. Silently he fixed him a plate and sat at the table to eat. Back there he wasn't going to come back, but when he saw that snowmobile broken down... he shook his head. There was no telling what made him change his mind. Although deep down he think he knew. But was he afraid to admit it to anyone?
"What had happened?"
Leia kept her gaze trained on the girl even as she spoke. "I found her on the border just as my informant told me. Spades was chasing her, and hearts was waiting on the other side of the River. "She paused before she tilted her head down. "I ordered him to run Auguste. I..."she brought her other hand in a small fist against the cover. "I didn't know what to do." Her voice wavered a moment before she glanced at the girl. She saved me. I don't know what she did but she brought Ridge to his knees."

"She did. As for how- that remains a mystery. " She squeezed the girls hand unconsciously but not hard. That would be discussed in due time. "We were running while they were distracted, and he came back for us. On a stolen snowmobile no less."

"Of course I don't. I am no better than everyone else. I feel and bleed the same." she stared at him after a moment. She didn't know why she was telling him something that they both knew.

"He's a good man, agrees as she exhales raggedly. "I can see why you picked him." She smiled even as a tear trickled down her cheek. "I truly thought that he had left. I know I told him to, but even still..." the rest of what she was going to say stuck in her throat. After a few minutes she smiled before wiping at her cheek. Shaking her head, she looked at him. There wasn't any time for her to sulk about what happened.

He gave a knowing smile, reaching and giving her shoulder a gentle squeeze. However, at a small groan he looked at Alyse, who moved just a little, a hand coming to her head.

Slowly she opened her eyes, blinking through her haze, seeing two blurs. In a panic, she sat up quickly with a gasp, though jerked back with a cry as she head butted Leia, holding her forehead. "Oooh, ow ow...." She curled a little, head towards her lap as she rubbed the pain away, hissing. "Where am I?" She croaked, raising her head, still rubbing.

She grew confused. "The inbetween?... I don't know what that is...."
Augusta caught on to something. "What's your name, child?"
"My name?" Alyse looked at him, brows creasing in concentration. "My name is... Alyse. Alyse Wise."
"What can you tell me about yourself, miss Alyse?" He reached and grabbed two cups of tea, handed Leia one and Alyse the other.
She took the cup, face concentrating as she tried to remember. "I don't know," she whispered. "I don't know..."

Leia listened as they talked, eyes flicking to Auguste as they filled with a sort of understanding. She didn't have to guess to hard what he was thinking. Her gaze softened as she took a sip of her tea. Sitting it in her lap, her gaze landed on the girl. "What do you remember?"

Leia watched her as she talked before shooting another glance at Auguste. Was whomever helped the girl on their side or just a kind soul? Once the girl was finished talking she smiled lightly. It would do no good to scare the girl at the moment. "Well all that matters is you're not hurt. And this is a safe place. "
