"What do one of these parties entail?"
"You'll have to wait and see, for that will spoil the surprise. To start, I would say a tour of the Carnival is in order. It would do some good to stretch those legs, for the both of you."
A smile touched her lips as their gazes met. Hand covering her mouth a laugh was stifled." Head dipping down in response Leia hummed in agreement. "If that's what you think August then I have no problems with it. Well then gentlemen-shall we?"

Auguste smiled brightly, and watched as Finnik pulled himself from the bed and he led the two out. "For the time being, will you be okay providing the tour? I'll arrange things for a gathering and work with the crew to prepare. It shouldn't take too long to readjust things in the tent."
"Are you sure it isn't too much trouble?" the young man inquired, feeling a little out of place.
"Nonsense!" The elder chuckled. "It'll help brighten the morale, dear boy."

Leia followed him out hands instinctively moving to smooth her skirt down. "I suppose I could. Though you'll have to Excuse me Finnick dear- explaining things properly isn't a strong suit of mine."

Walking over her feet halted near Finnick. "Everything will be alright. Come along now-linger any longer here and we'll just get in his way." Taking his arm she smiled softly at him. Hand squeezing gently she pulled him down the path. "So dear boy? Where to first?"

"I think you'll do wonderfully, Miss Leia," Finnik replied to her first remark. She seemed like a woman who was well put together, and he believed that he wouldn't have any trouble following her around.
Auguste, who shared a similar sentiment, beamed. "Marvelous. I will see the two of you in a few hours, then! Off you go!" His hands clapped playfully and he saw them out the front of the tent, watching as Leia took Fin's arm and led him away.
Finnik, looking to the man before being whisked away by a strong grasp on his arm, fell into stepped along side the Diamond Queen and gazed around, already taken by how much more life existed in this area than he previously thought. "Truth be told, I'm not sure where to start," he admitted. "I've never been to a place like this before. What would recommend for a first time indulgence?"

"You're too kind young one." Leia led him down the path eyes wandering a moment. After a few moments of thought her eyes glimmers with satisfaction as she continued down the path. "I know just the place. Its not too much further." Stopping a few minutes later she turned to him letting go of his arm. Backing up she held her hand out to the ferris wheel in the center. "Since this your fist time at the carnival then riding this at least once is a requirement."

Fin followed her with ease, his greying-blue eyes taking in all of the colors, the smells of the carnival food, the sounds of music. He watched as a man spun cotton candy on a stick, the sugar flying through the air as it's flung about. A hand reached up and Finnik plucked a small strand from the air, sticking his tongue to it after a moment. The expression on his face brightened as he licked his thumb, turning to the sound of something popping. It was someone playing darts with balloons, oversized stuffed animals hanging around the stand. There was so much, he was overwhelmed.
When Leia stopped and gestured to the large circle that spun with carriages on it, his eyes widened. The machine made him feel like a dwarf, staring as they drew near. "That thing is massive," he drawled, watching as people wave to their friends or family below. "It goes so high!"

Leia watched him a moment, lost in the activities around her. Two green eyes lifted to the scenery, growing in size as if she was seeing for the first time. Time appeared to slow down as everything seemed to blend together around him as he stood out more. Almost as if her senses had been dulled. Inhaling her head moved back and forth quickly-barely acknowledging he had spoken. "Yes it is." Hand reaching down she pinched herself through her skirt. It was a habit she had picked up if something was wrong. Starting at the pain her lips raised into a small smile. "The best part is at the top. Would you like to see?

"The top?" Finnik echoed, craning his neck. The sun was nearing the edge of the horizon, and for a moment his mind painted itself a picture of the world from above. He wondered if they flickered like stars from above, with the flashing of colors, the swirls of people moving about, the breeze that disturbed the tents. "I would love to see it," came his reply after a long moment, looking back to Leia with a smile. "Shall we?"

Leia stared at him before she laughed, berating herself for worrying. For there was nothing but joy and nostalgia for those who had found a home in the carnival. Stilling she blinked, a protest on her tongue. Though it disappeared at the look on his face, and she had offered to take him around after all. Letting out a breath she took his arm, eyes soft as she steered him into line eyes scrutinizing the machine. Once they were up to the front her eyes lowered, coming face to face with Kasper. Ignoring the eyebrow raised in her direction she let go of Finnicks arm to step up into the carriage.

Finnik heard the laugh and was taken aback a moment since it was the first time he could recall her truly laughing beyond a gentle chuckle. His expression was bright as she took his arm and trudged forward with him in tow, and the young man studied her back. His smile faded just a little, eyes widening just a little as time seemed to slow to a crawl for him and the world shifted in its image with almost faded sepia color.
And for a brief second, it wasn't Leia pulling him along. It was another girl, much younger, with longer, lighter hair. The world seemed more large around him and her. Were they children? He could see she was wearing some sort of summer dress, a bow tied neatly behind it and a flower crown in her hair. The heat of summer stuck to his skin, her hand cool in his as they walked. Ahead of her, Fin could see a blurry image of another, perhaps a boy, dressed in a short sleeve and khakis, his hair messy and a rust color in the faded colors. Names flickered across his mind and his mouth opened to say them, and the girl turned her head to look at him as the boy ahead came to a stop, but he never got to see their faces.
Finnik was slammed back into the bright color and speed of the carnival, the sounds appearing distorted in his ears. The music sounded wrong, the notes getting caught and dropping an octave and going flat like someone was horribly rewinding a tape. When he flare of light disappear, he found he was following Leia again, not the two kids. He climbed in behind Leia, a little dazed and distracted, having missed that they had just passed Kasper.
Everything felt like a waking dream.

Leia turned sitting on the booth facing him. Continuously reminding herself to smile she forced herself not to flinch as Kasper shut the door.
"Keep your hands and feet inside at all times. Do not get up and please do not shake the carriage." He recited the speech with a bored look on his face. It wasnt his favorite part of the job but he wouldn't do anything to risk Augustes position.
Leia turned before nodding as he locked the latch into place. "Thank you Kasper." She turned to Finnick, trying to calm the butterflies in her stomach. "Are you ready?" Her eyes flicked to Kasper as he moved to his seat and hit buttons. As it started moving her hands went to her lap, keeping her gaze forward.

Finnik's gaze met Kasper, clouded. What was he saying? Oh, that's right. The ride, the rules, keep hands in. Wait, were his hands in? He looked at them, frowning. They were.
"Thank you Kasper. Are you ready?"
At the question, he looked back to Leia, looking almost as if he were confused. Things were only now starting to sound normal, and Leia's voice sounded like a foreign language until her question directed to him. "Huh? Oh, yeah, sure, I am." Finnik sat a little straighter and back in the seat with a nod.

Leia watched him as the carriage started moving. Keeping her eyes on him-she slowly noticed that something about him looked off. Confused on what was happening she reached forward to take his hands in hers. "Take a deep breath and close your eyes. Once we're at the top I want you to open them-on my signal. Forgetting her own anxiety she was focusing on making sure that he was comfortable being where he was. Once they were at the top she sighed before letting a small smile plague her lips as a breeze passed the carriage. "Alright Finnick- open them."

Finnik started a bit, his brow turning puzzled until he eventually closed his eyes, obeying Leia's command. He sat still and silent, though as the carriage moved he listened as the carnival below faded away into a murmur. Time dragged on, and he began to wonder if she forgot to tell him to open his eyes.
"Alright Fin, open them."
He stilled when he did.
The world sprawled out around them, and the view was more breath taking than he first imagined. The lights became flowers scattered among cloth tents. The people looked so small, as they wove between, and in his awe he leaned forward just a little. It was all so much, and he was soaking it up-- his memory stumble almost all forgotten.

Leias eyes softened at the sight of him-for she was glad that he still appeared to be enjoying himself. A small puff of air left her as she stretched forward in an a attempt to see from where she sat. She had tried to do so many times over the years, and ever time she managed to last a little longer near the side. After a few moments she pulled back, body flush against the metal. Butterflies swarming her stomach sent her into lockdown mode. Her eyes squeezed shut as her hands kept the fabric of her skirt in a deadlock.
