Dozorce's eyes opened again at her voice, his expression impassive. He didn't mean to torture her-- in honesty, he hadn't realized he was torturing himself. He looked down and gave a short and mirthless chuckle, shoulders rising and falling a little. With a shake of his head he closed his eyes, laughing a little more. How ridiculous could he be? He couldn't fix everything.

Dozorce snapped from his daze, eyes distant, though a moment later they cleared a little more and he started filing through his memories, pulling forward the strongest he could find, setting them free from the mental box he kept and used them to try to bring back what he used to have.
