Riad's eyes watched her, though a moment later he stood, his expression unreadable, though his tail tightened around his leg at the last remark. "I'm returning to Carter," he murmured, stepping back and turning away.

The violets of his eyes flashed a moment. "Sorry to burst your bubble," he murmured, "but I don't need your permission to d anything." Then to Dozorce without looking at him, "You know what I need to do." And with that, he was gone in a puff of smoke.
Dozorce stared at where Riad stood, partially confused by his son's sudden demeanor, but he let it go as he stood. "What is your plan?"
