He mulls over the numbers a long moment. "About a hundred and twenty years, give or take. I met her and Zlo when I was rather young, in terms of demons." he laughs lightly. "Still am rather young."

Riad kisses his nose with a smile. "Essentially."
"Were you and her together at one time?.."
Taking a breath he rolls onto his back, lounging. "That part is tricky." he studies the ceiling a moment. "Back then, I was essentially a partier, just minus the parties. I was a frequent at her bar, but in the beginning, I didn't know she was... Well, her. She's a skin changer, and to keep the thugs out of her bar, she kept the guise as a man." He chuckles a little at his naivety and gullibility then. "I was king of lured in like a siren and a sailor, so we did had a relationship once, but then I found out her secret. Needless to say I was rather... Upset and completely surprised then. In fact, in the beginning, I highly disliked her after that."

Grumbling even more at the reply, Carter falls silent as Riad speaks, listening before he inhales softly "So how did you end up being friends?.. How did you acquire her bar?"

"When I fell to the lowest I could, shortly after I met Zlo," his smile fades a little as he remembers. "When I found out my brother ended up under Lucifer's influence, I...lost it. Though it was partially my fault, not putting more effort into finding him. In honesty, I wanted to give up on it all. I saw no point in a demon living among humans, no purpose. And just when I thought no one really cared, her and Zlo stepped up and kept me from losing my wits. But there was still a mess to clean up, and it was Ammiras who cleaned it, and that was when she found she preferred working for and with the dead. So she became the undertaker, and as her gift to me, as well as leverage for me to better myself, she gave me the bar. She didn't have any family to pass it to, no one she preferred to give it to, and she didn't want to sell the one place that acted as neutral ground for all kinds of people. So, to make up for the trouble I caused, I accepted it and used it as my purpose."

He laughs lightly, his tail slipping from his as he stands. Rolling onto his side, a small look of disappointment twisting his lips as some of the warmth leaves with Carter, though he still remains content. "Where're you going?"
