His head turned towards her, hair white in the moonlight and eyes pale and unseeing. The dark was his element, and his image seemed to mesh with it even as his jaw worked silently a moment. "Yeah," was all he murmured, pushing himself back up to sitting straight from where he had fallen back, dusting sand from his arms.

"But it's gone, isn't it?" He protested, trotting over then coming to a stop. However, he frowned as he listened to her, hearing her heartbeat and breathing one moment, then hearing only silence the next. His heart skipped a beat, a feeling he wasn't used to, and his hand went to his chest as he listened.
"Sparrow?" he called, and hearing nothing more, the panic that he didn't understand rose. Was she a figment of my imagination? The drugs? The haze?

Falling through the invisible barrier, Eva hits the pier with a grunt, looks up slowly, eyes widen when she sees her home before she whirls at the sound of a voice
"Sparrow?"
"Elias..." she whispers, gaze wavering, looking at him through the milky surface, small step towards him, reaches her hand out through, hesitating "Elias!"

His head turned towards the voice, eyes searching the darkness as he took a few steps forward, trying to determine where she was.
"Elias!"
Elias felt something move the air, and hesitantly he reached forward, coming into contact with a hand. His muscles quivered as he fought the urge to jerk back, but he had to know.

Feeling his hand grab hers, her eyes waver, goes to pull him through before jerking away when something invisible wraps around her waist and yanks her backwards. Hitting the deck on her back, she groans, stands quickly, fear striking her chest as she reaches for Elias again, managing to grab the collar of his shirt loosely, biting back a scream at the feeling of being snatched again, looks at him, gaze wide before she's drug towards the end of the pier and over the edge into the water

Elias stumbled forward as he was jerked through the barrier, his eyes widening slightly as he tried to gain his bearings. However, the second time he gave a shout, tumbling to the pier and scrambling to get a hold, hearing Eva's rising scream. He twisted around to try to grab her, to gain hold on something he could understand, but the world seemed to give way underneath of him and left him floating in air, almost like a dream.
But that dream turned into nightmare as he hit water, the sounds of the world reducing to the eerie sound of water and waves.

Hitting the water, Eva starts to panic, inhaling right before she goes under. Squirming to try and get free, she looks around through wide eyes, tries to grab onto something, still holding onto Elias. Bubbles escaping when they've reached a distance of almost ten feet, she shakes her head slowly, vision starting to go black and head pounding, looks at him. More bubbles escaping as she tries to speak, she closes her mouth quickly, hands flying to her mouth, releases him so he's free to get to safety even as she's still pulled under

Elias fell deathly still once they struck water, nothing more than dead weight for a few heartbeats, but once he felt the sting of salt in his eyes and the lack of oxygen, he jolted. His head turned to try to get he bearings, fear starting to swallow him as he felt lost, and when he felt the pressure lessen at the collar of his shirt, he panicked and his hand lashed out, latching on to Eva's wrist, grip tight as he fought to swallow the fear. He could hear the strangled sounds and feel the bubbles, and a moment later he tried to pull against Eva, though with no luck of wrenching her free.

Sight fading, she blinks slowly when she feels something else grab her, last of her air escaping in bubbles, eyes slowly close before she feels a rush, gets thrown out of the water with Elias, hits the deck, barely breathing
