Quan dips his head a little, though straightens and takes his place again among the shadows, though he could feel the stares from several others. And the stares give him a pressure on his chest that he isn't used to.

Letting out a breath he didn't realize he held, Quantinine relaxes now that the act is over, and slowly he slips out of the ring and back to the backstage, shaking his head a little.

Making her way down the other ladder quickly, Kasadi half runs once her feet are on the ground, in a rush. Catching up to Quan within moments, she springs forward, arms wrapping around his waist from behind until she stills, face pressed to his spine

Feeling arms move around his waist Quan stiffens a bit, stopping and keeping his gaze forward. After a few heartbeats his head turns a little, though he doesn't look over his shoulder completely. Quietly, he murmurs, "Kasadi?"

"Don't.. Just.." Kas whispers, gaze hidden as her arms tighten around him, inhaling shakily. Pressing her forehead to his back, her teeth grit before she slowly pulls away, eyes averted "Sorry." she murmurs, forcing a smile then turning to walk awy

Stilling with her back to him, Kasadi's eyes waver before she slowly turns back to look at him from the corner of her gaze "You saved my life. And I.." voice slipping, she swallows "I'm tired of the act, Quan."

"Then talk to the ring master," he sighs and starts towards the dressing area, ready to get out of his outfit. "You don't have much tethering you here, I'm sure you could go if you wanted."

Flinching as if struck, Kas's eyes waver at his words before her jaw locks and she heads for the dressing room. Reaching it not long after Quan, she strips and changes into her everyday outfit quietly, yanking a brush through her hair only to tie it with a ribbon as she walks out, heading for the stables to get a horse, bag strapped to her back

Quan pulls on his jacket, feeling less confined as he turns, eyes falling on Kas as she leaves. His jaw ticks, knowing that the way he spoke earlier had cut a little too deep, but what else could he had said? It wasn't like he could entirely leave with her-- he's tethered to the carnival, to the circus, by promises and vows and he couldn't shake them away. Pursing his lips he hesitates, then slowly starts towards the door, but the familiar voice of the ringmaster catches his attention and keeps him in place.
