"It could go one of two ways. She'll either accept you, or she won't."
His jaw ticked at the news.
"Her name is Evalyn. She's in her early 20's, and she's only just recently discovered she's not human. She's been alone for so long, hidden from the rest of the world by a spirit, so no danger could find her. But now that cloak is gone. And Rourke?"
His gaze raised and met hers, brows deep.
"If she ever needed you, it's now."
There was another moment of silence. Now his chest was filled with the news, and he soaked up every bit of it. She was alive. Alive. Alive. Rourke straightened, regaining his energy again. "Can you find her?"

"Can you find her?"
"Of course I can." Ammiras responds immediately as she stands, straightening "Just say the word." Blinking, the white fades from her eye briefly as she smiles wistfully, offering her hand "You gave me a second chance. Now let me help you have one."

"Of course I can. Just say the word. You gave me a second chance. Now let me help you have one."
Rourke looked up at her and her expression. The smile was almost enough to drown the unease, and his expression softened at the last remark Amiras gave. There is always room for second chances, and he knew that all too well. It was experienced with Amiras, helping her rebuild from one of the lowest points she fell to. With himself, going from being closed off to the rest of the world and here he was now, experiencing emotion, experiencing music, experiencing life.
Taking her hand, he stood, feeling the nervousness and excitement and worry. "Show me the way, Ami."

"Show me the way, Ami."
Helping him up, Ammiras nods gently at his statement, right iris turning white again as her hand tightens in his, gaze darting around "She's at the pier it seems. But.. It's blurry."

"She's at the pier it seems. But.. It's blurry."
Brows drawing low, he looked down in thought, searching his memories. The Pier? It sounded familiar, and he remembered an older, more abandoned one that no one used. A jolt went through Rourke, and he looked at Ami quickly. "It's the same one her mother and I used to go to when we walked the beach. But as far as I could tell, there wasn't anything--" he paused, remembering what Amiras had told him before. "I wouldn't have found them even if I looked there because of the spell protecting them."
Rourke quickly donned his coat and grabbed something from his musical case, tucking it away in his coat pocket as he stood and looked to Amiras. "Let's go, then. How quickly can you keep up with a bird?"

"It's the same one her mother and I used to go to when we walked the beach. But as far as I could tell, there wasn't anything--I wouldn't have found them even if I looked there because of the spell protecting them."
"Spell?" Ammiras echoes, frowning as she studies him
"Let's go, then. How quickly can you keep up with a bird?"
"A bird?" Raising a brow she turns her head, whistling "I'm sure I can keep up with Dewey's help."

"Spell?"
"Or cloak, as you had put it," he clarified with a small scrunch of his nose. Unfortunately, Rourke wasn't one for the finer details unless it had involved his music, which was now nearly forgotten in his newfound hope and nerves that his family may still be alive.
He felt awful for not having found them-- it made him feel like a family though for over a decade he searched low and high, even talking to those of more questionable character. There was only once that he found a lead, word of a demon who mentioned his wife's name, but it quickly led to a dead end.
"A bird? I'm sure I can keep up with Dewey's help."
"Good," Rourke by now was leaving the room and going towards the backdoor. "It's been quite some time since I've taken that form, but it'll be the fastest to travel by. If I were stronger, I could carry you."

"Or cloak, as you had put it,"
"Ah, right. The reason I can't see where she is clearly." Ammiras responds, pausing as he turns quickly, hand unconsciously finding the fur of the ethereal wolf now by her side
"Good. It's been quite some time since I've taken that form, but it'll be the fastest to travel by. If I were stronger, I could carry you."
"Don't worry about me, we'll meet you there." she murmurs, climbing onto the wolf's back and following him out "Isn't that right Dewey?" settling when she's comfortable she smiles at the yip that reaches her ears in response to get question. Gaze finding Rourke, she locks gazes with him, nodding "Let's go."

Rourke waited patiently as she settled in, eyeing the large wolf. The creature was the one thing that the man wasn't used to-- it was many years ago that he had seen a beast that size, so it came as a shock when he first encountered it two years ago. It was a friendly fellow, though, and Rourke would be lying if he said he didn't like his company.
"Don't worry about me, we'll meet you there. Isn't that right Dewey? Let's go."
A smile graced his lips at the yip, and he turned towards the wind. "Then let us go."
The step he took forward was almost like a half-bound. The next step was when the change happened. Gray, tan, and white feathers blossomed starting at his head and stirred up a breeze, his form becoming enveloped as there was one final step forward. From the mass the streamlined wings of a swallow snapped out with a heavy downstroke, lifting a body into the air as a neck stretched out, revealing a large head of a heron. There were more forest tones now-- tan peppering his breast with black speckles to his underbelly as he rose into the air. A loud cry escaped his beak, and the wind responded in kind as he turned and made his way towards the pier.
[now moving to the pier]
