Flapping her wings faster, Shade reaches the dungeon within minutes, teeth gritted as her hands find their way to Kian's neck before he can blink, sitting at his waist, eyes flashing "YOU."

"Just when were you planning on telling me?" Shade hisses, fingers tightening as her eyes form slits, gaze angry "About the time difference."

Kian's hands come up and effortlessly pries her fingers apart, gaze even. "Never, really. It didn't cross my mind." He turns his head as he hears footsteps, and stopped in the middle of the stairs is Ace, who pants lightly after having ran after Shade.

"Oh really." Shade growls, eyes flicking towards the sound of footsteps before they snap back to the demon as she climbs off of him and heads towards the figure in the cell "And just when are you planning to tell him about her?" she murmurs, hand reaching through the bars for the woman's neck

"No, don't!" Ace panicked, darting down to the bottom of the stairs before he freezes, eyes widening at Kain's voice.
Frowning as his illusion is acted on, Kain ticked his jaw before he grinned, letting the woman dissipate through her fingers. "Never."
Slowly, Ace turned his torn and ravaged gaze from the image of his mother disappearing and settled on Kain, face paling. "What have you done."

Ace's hand went to the railing to steady himself, his gaze wide as he stared at where the husk of his mother stood. The next sound to come from his throat was choked, captured by the emotion he had always tried to bite back. "What?"
"She was too weak to begin with," the demon went on, waving his hand in a movement of dismissal. "The poltergeist took far more of her than what anyone could save, and eventually her highness put her out of her misery and told me to keep a husk around. All for the sake of you." Kain laughed sharply, head rolling back as the noise grew louder. "I was against it in the beginning, but man, it was all worth the look on your face now! That's the most I've seen your face twitch, Tayne."
The young man jerked, his blue-green gaze snapping to Kain, eyes seeming to gain a light as a shadowy image of something flickers by his hand on the railing, knuckles white and sharp against his skin and bright in the brief image of darkness. Something left him, the color darkening in his stare and the shadows of the room grew, and Kain's immediately laughing face dropped, first into doubt, then concern, confusion. He opened his mouth to say something, stopped, stiffened as concern drew to panic, then fear, as a hand went to his throat and he dropped to a knee, hand feebly catching the couch to keep himself up.
Something moved in the shadows tucked away in the cell as a hissing filled the air, and the once broken looking illusionist stood taller, straighter, sharper as the hand released the rail and he turned to the stairs. His tone was the fragment of what was left. "Follow me," he said to Shade as Kain's head snapped to the cell where whatever it was crouched there stayed out of focus, fuzzy,though clear as day to the demon. His voice was low, both at once a calm sort of empty and full of rage. "I want you to take someone with you."

Feeling the air temperature drop suddenly, Shade looks to Ace then to Kian at a sound, stiffening as she watches the scene play out before her. Staying silent, she turns away from the demon cautiously, silent until Ace speaks
"Follow me. I want you to take someone with you."
Gaze studying him, Shade swallows before she follows him out, pausing before her question slips out "What did you do to him? And who am I taking?

The man didn't stop, going up the stairs with a steady pace, and he didn't flinch when the screaming below started.
"What did you do to him? And who am I taking?
"Something I should've done a long time ago," Ace replied, tone flat as he held the door open for her, closing it behind him once she crossed the threshold. "I'm going to have you take a friend to No-Man's, as it will get her far from here. Neither of you need to be around once news spreads." Starting down the hall, he trudged forward towards Marisole's room, intending to send her away.

If the screaming behind her bothered her, you wouldn't have known as Shade does little but pause as it starts, following him

"No man's land?" Shade asks, gaze wavering as she stops in her tracks, hand shaking out to grasp his arm tightly "Wait. I have to get home. To my.. World." she murmurs, trying to choose her words carefully "If I've been here two years, my contract is up. And I.. I can finally get my daughter." Teeth gritting, she pauses, unsure "Will this take long?"

Feeling something reach his arm , he paused and turned, gaze settling on the woman. It appeared heavy, the corners of his eyes tight and his jaw set. There was a bruise blossoming across his skin from his earlier punishment, though it and the ache in his bones were nothing.
"Wait. I have to get home. To my.. World. If I've been here two years, my contract is up. And I.. I can finally get my daughter....Will this take long?"
The reply was quick. "No, it's on your way. The easiest way to leave this place is through No-man's. It's not claimed by a singular power, so travel is easiest through there." Ace turned back forward and began walking again. Now that he thought about it, getting Marisole to the Inbetween wouldn't be the safest route, as he knew what he was about to do would likely incite a war. No, she needed to be further away. "If you can get her to, take her with you. Get as far away from this Carnival as you can."

Ace stopped just before a door at the end of the hall, the one that separated his wing of the mansion from the rest of it. His eyes were dark as they focused on the woman in front of him, hearing her words. "What condition are you asking about?" he murmured, jaw set. He didn't care-- the only thing that mattered to what human part was left was to get Marisole out before the castle came crumbling down by his hand.
