Kale sighed before looking up, almost as if the answer was in the clouds that floated above. "I was 9." Yes that was better than trying to remember the exact amount of years or the particular date. Not that he had forgotten it-no it was a date that he couldn't forget. Hesitantly he touched his scarf remembering what the fight was over.

Kale follows after a minute, tilting his head as they walked. Lighter things to talk about, he wracked his brain until he remembered something. "How long have you known? That you can use water?"

"For as long as I can remember," she answered, looking at him. "I never understood what was going on in the beginning, and when I showed my parents, they were a little freaked. But after that, and after learning that Ademius had the gift of fire... They nurtured them and helped us grow. My sister practiced fire dancing, something that started in the eastern part of the world. She loved it. I wasn't as fierce as she was, but dancing seemed so natural to me, and I ended up with ballet, and over time, I created my own form of dancing." Rune smiled at the memory, looking down the path. "It was fun. We would share our lessons and tried teaching one another, even though we never quite learned."

"That sounds...amazing." His head snapped towards her. "Ade could control fire?" of course, she had said that her sister helped her see fire wasn't all bad, but it didn't register what she meant at the time. A laugh escaped him. "Dancing? I never thought about that. Kale listened intently, his face gaining a look of awe as she described it. He leaned in closer, seeming to letting the words wash over him- eyes breaking out into a smile as she talked. "Tell me more."

Rune nodded. "When I was young, I had a fear of it, but never understood why. Once she and I discovered out gifts, she helped me understand that fire was nothing to fear. Oddly enough, she was the same way about water. She absolutely hated it."
"Dancing? I never thought about that."
"It was a unique idea that our parents came up with, to help us control our powers and not have to worry about the outside world finding out."
"Tell me more."
She laughed lightly, brushing her hair back. "Ade went from dancing to martial arts, which suited her more, and I stuck with dancing. I still dance, though I haven't danced in front of anyone in quite some time." She paused, looking at the trees a moment. "After we found our first gifts, we uncovered another, and when we both found out we had something alike, we were ecstatic. It was earth, and our mother was pleased. She always joked about it, her two daughters able to help in the gardens, both with green thumbs. A few years later, a third started showing in me, but I haven't been able to harness it enough to do much. I always though Ade would get jealous of me, but she never did. If anything, she wanted to help me grow."

"That's probably true. " he looked forward, his smile lessening some. She was the first person to actually get him to smile-really smile. It was rare for him to do. Sure he smiled at the crowds, but it wasn't the same as when he smiled at her.
