The amusement left and was replaced with a tinge of understanding. Even though he hated people before, he hated being alone. And she was the perfect piece to fill that space, and the thought of it brought a gentle smile to his face. He leaned forward and kissed her softly, a small peck, leaning back just a little. "I'm not going anywhere, Sparrow," he murmured. "There's nothing that could pull me away."

His face twisted at the tears and he rolled, half laying on her as he groaned. "Don't bloody cry, it's twenty times worse seeing you cry than just hearing you," he grumbled. "So what if I 'don't know you.' You're here, which means I can learn more about this puzzle that's fascinating me and kept me occupied and even, somehow, warms me up a little and shows that I have to stop being a damned grouch all the time." He let out a sigh, chin resting over her head. "Not trying to sound weird, but you're mine, and when something or someone gains the 'mine' status from a demon, then they protect it to the end. And, well, being mine, nothing's going to snatch you away if I'm still breathing, stranger or not." The tip of his tail twitch in his pant leg.

Elias wrapped his arms around her and rolled over her to the other side, holding her close and protectively, his tail slipping out and curling around them. He gave a small snort as he settled. "At least I'll be someone's monster, then." His eyes held the smile and laugh he kept inside, while the rest of his face retained a relatively impassive look.
