As she froze and dropped, Riad's eyes widened and he looked to his father, whose hand lashed out and grabbed her wrist, suspending her a few moment in time, using his gift. His eyes flashed white as he focused on her, jaw ticking. "Someone go check on Zlo."
"But who's going to watch--"
"I will. Or one of you. But somebody, check Zlo."

Zlo frowned deeply, and he stumbled back a moment later seeing the ball, dropping the heart. "What the--" he wheezed with a grunt as the ball struck him, eyes wide as he hand moved to his chest as he struggled for air, having felt like he was just kicked in the chest by a horse and dropped to a knee.

Flinching when blood hits his face from where Shade yanked her wing free, he watches with wide eyes as she suddenly stops breathing, eyes waver before he steps closer "Is she?..."

"Is she?..."
"She's on the edge," Dozorce ground out, strain reaching his face. "Suspended in time so we don't lose track of her soul until I know what Zlo is doing." When Riad didn't move, he growled. "For Christ's sake, boy, go check on Zlo!"
Riad looked at Carter, "Watch the girl." He disappeared, reappearing in the living room, starting at the sight of Lucifer and his heart laying nearby. "Oh jeez..." Eyes flicking towards a writhing form in the corner, he frowned and walked over towards it. "What the hell..." However, a glimpse of dark curly hair sent him rushing. "Zlo!"
Zlo growled and moved away, a blur, falling again and groaning on the ground with his forehead to the floor, twitching and gasping. "D-Don't."
Riad jerked back, staring as he tried to figure out what was happening, but the moment Zlo rolled to his back, it arching a little as his eyes flashed crimson and gold, he put the pieces together. "How..." His eyes flicked to Lucifer, then back to Zlo. "We have to get you out before anything more happens."
As Riad moved and grabbed Zlo's arm, Zlo's hand snapped to his wrist, grip tight. Now up close, Riad could see what the demon was battling. And without another word, he pulled him along as they reappeared outside, but in a fit of anger and the light, Zlo tossed Riad aside with a growl, scrambling away towards a tree.
"Dad, what's happening to him?" Riad asked as he pushed himself to his feet, knees and hands stained green from the ground as he stopped himself after Zlo's fit.

"How is that even possible, of her heart isn't beating?" Carter whispers, face filling with confusion when he realizes he can hear everyone's pulses, and their heartbeats
"For Christ's sake, boy, go check on Zlo!"
"Watch the girl."
"I will." he makes out, eyes trained on her, blue eyes wavering. At the sound of a thump a few moments later, his head snaps around, stiffening when he sees Riad hit a tree, glares at Zlo "What the hell man?!"

Dozorce's eyes flicked to Zlo, and he swore, removing his hand and stopping the suspension, slightly pale in the face. "I should've known."
"Dad, what is happening to him?" Riad asked, getting to his feet, wobbling just a little.
"Lucifer's last strike to make his life hell, that's what," he replied, standing and walking over to Zlo, who snarled and backed away, skin black around his chest. Dozorce knelt down, eying him. "It's just like a change, Zlo," he started, and Zlo glared at him, shaking. "Fight it, keep your head--"
"Shade," he growled, and when Dozorce doesn't readily reply, he snapped. "Shade! What of Shade?"
"Gone." Zlo fell still before he bristled, and Dozorce felt the static and stood quickly. "No, get yourself together. You can get her back, now that you have Lucifer's power coursing through your veins. Just get yourself together and stable, and we'll talk."
Recognition flickered behind Zlo's crimson gaze and he lurched towards Zor, stumbling back to the ground. "You knew! You fucking knew!"
"Being a time manipulator, yes, I knew," he murmured, watching the demon.
"You son of a bitch!" Dozorce side stepped another lunge from Zlo.

Angel stood there crying with hands over her eyes, she didn't know what was going on. There were too many people and she just wanted to be held by her daddy again. They were all arguing and she just felt alone.

"Stop!"
Dozorce looked at Carter, head snapping back towards Zlo as he lunged again, but this time Dozorce grabbed his arm, twisted it and pressed it against Zlo's back, pushing Zlo to the ground and pinning him. Zlo thrashed, growling sharply though hissed as Zor tugged on the arm.
"Listen here, boy," he murmured. "Get yourself together. Let go of you rage so you can get this excess power under control." Zlo thrashed again, and Dozorce jostled him. "If not for us than for your daughter!" The demon fell still, panting and forehead pressed into the ground one hand clenching grass and the other a tight fist behind his back.
Riad stepped over to Angel and picked her up gently. "It's okay, kiddo. Nothing's going to hurt you anymore," he murmured, looking at Zlo. "Just give your father a moment and he'll pull through." Riad's eyes flicked to Carter, worry and uncertainty written in his gaze.
Zlo huffed and puffed, growling and jerking now and then, though the growls gave way into quiet groans as he fought back the emotions, the joy to have his daughter, the hatred towards Lucifer, the anger and hurt of losing Shade, the disdain towards Zor. But after a few heartbeats, he simmered out, slowly relaxing under Dozorce's weight. It was still and quiet before he croaked, voice breaking, "Let me up."
Dozorce hesitated a moment before slowly moving off and away, and Zlo unfolded himself and rose to his knees.

Angel didn't hug him, nor did she move away. "Rweally?" she looked up at him before staring at her dad. "Daddy hurt?"

Watching with wide eyes, Carter turns away when Zlo stands, inhales shakily before he disappears into thin air, needing a moment alone, heading for Riad's bar, one of the only places he feels safe

"Rweally? Daddy hurt?"
Riad pursed his lips at he glanced towards where Carter once stood then looked at Zlo, who stood and took a few paces, hand running over his face. Riad could see the cold sweat and the tension in his shoulders, and every now and then a twitch of his muscles as his body tried to fight Lucifer's power still. "Something like that," Riad answered her, then to the two men in front of him, "I'm taking her back to the bar and to try to find Carter. She doesn't need to see any more." He had kept himself between the girl's view and Shade. "We'll meet there when you're ready. Try not to kill each other."
Zlo looked at Riad sharply, though when his eyes fell to Angel his jaw ticked, then he gave a curt nod. "I'll be with you in a little bit, sweetheart." He stepped over, keeping his bloody hand from view, and kissed the top of her head. Riad nodded and disappeared in a puff of smoke towards his bar, the girl with him.
Zlo looked at Shade's body, face twitching as he struggled to keep out the emotion. "Gods, Shade, I'm sorry," he murmured, covering his face with a hand, breath shuddering.
"We can bring her back," Dozorce ventured.
"How?"
He moved a little side to side. "Bring her back using Lucifer's power--"
"I will not give him that satisfaction in death," Zlo growled, on the verge of exploding again.
The man held up his hands, "--or find the incubus who changed her in the first place and bargain with him to bring her back."
"Creatures and their goddamned deals," Zlo grumbled, pacing.

Zlo whirled around, facing the newcomer before his muscles coiled, growling, "Who are you."
Dozorce held out his hand, trying to keep Zlo as calm as he can, knowing he's a ticking time bomb.
"What on earth did you do to my own?"
"The devil crossed his own deal with her," Dozorce explained, voice neutral and expression stern. "He failed to meet her terms, and in turn got himself killed, which led to Shade sacrificing herself to accomplish that." He studied the man. "You must be the one who brought her back."

"Apologies," Dozorce murmured to him.
