Coughing weakly about ten minutes later, Carter groans softly, eyelids fluttering, turns over onto his side, breath hissing out, body on fire, just finished changing physically

Riad started from the chair he was sitting in, eyes brightening in relief and hope, though they still remained guarded. "Carter?"
Zlo gave Dozorce a pat on the shoulder. "You haven't entirely failed those boys. Yeah, they need a little work, and you need a little work on your relationship, but you guys will pull through."
"I don't know," he murmured with a sigh. "The devil has something planned, and I can smell that it's not going to become pretty." He looked towards the hall. "I just hope I can save them from whatever it is."

Groaning, he opens his eyes slowly, teeth gritted, looks at Riad slowly, light blinding him a moment, irises now a vivid blue "Riad?..."

Clearing her throat when they appear just down the hall from Zlo and Dozorce, she pulls her hand from Lucifer's silently, small sigh, mark on her neck visible "Do you have to hold her? For heaven's sake, if she runs, I'll catch her."
"I said I'd give her back to Zlo, I never said I'd let her walk freely." Lucifer murmurs, hand around the girls, wraps the other arm around Shade's waist "The same goes for you."

Angel flinches as his hand tightened around hers and she looked up with wide but tearful eyes. Instinctively she tried pulling away, her gaze lifting to the woman. "I want my mommy!" she sniffled before her voice broke out into a wail.

A small smile touched his lips and he gave a quiet short laugh and leaned over, gently giving his hand a squeeze. "I'm here. Thank the gods you're awake."

Zlo's posture grew rigid at the voices, and he turned and tensed even further to see Lucifer and Shade, Lucifer's hand on her waist. "Shade, what--" His eyes found the mark, and at the little girl's voice his eyes trailed down to the girl and his knees nearly buckled, expression changing from hate and anger to shock and confusion, hand reaching out and steadying himself on the wall. "What...." he drew an uneasy breath. "Angel?" his voice cracked, and Dozorce's eyes flicked between all of the figures in front of him, thrown off and not knowing what to do.

Breath hissing out, she looks up at him, black eyes finding his red, sighs, tenses a bit at Zlo's voice, looks over "Don't." she murmurs, gaze flicking back to Lucifer when Zlo sees Angel "I'm doing what you asked. Now let her go."

"Very well." Lucifer murmurs, studying her with a smirk, releases the girl, eyes finding his creation, holding Shade flush up against him "Zlataan. We've brought a gift for you."

She stared up to the source of the voice, tears replenishing themselves at the sound. As soon as her hand was released she took off running, feet carrying her to the man in front of her. Her hands attached to his pant leg and her fists balled as her face burrowed into the creases.

"Easy, easy," Riad's hand reached out and helped him sit up. "You made it through the change," he murmured, smiling gently. "I was afraid you wouldn't."

Zlo stiffened when the girl ran to him and attached to his legs, eyes flicking to her then to Shade and Lucifer, searching for an explanation, frown deepening his confusion as Lucifer pulled Shade to him. His eyes flicked around before they settled on the girl, and slowly he knelt down with his hands gently grasping the girl's shoulders. "Angel, it can't... Is it?" he moved her hair from her forehead a little, spotting the birthmark, expression unreadable through all he was fighting through.
Dozorce looked to Shade and Lucifer. "What's the meaning of this?"

Feeling a shift of the leg she had in a snake vice, she stepped back to let go. But she still held her head down, tears painting her cheeks.
"Angel, it can't... Is it?"
Hearing his voice, her gaze lifted to him- a small fist covering her right eye as she wept. As it dawned on her who the person was she sniffled. "Daddy still stinks." regardless of her nose crinkling at his cologne, she hugged him.

Riad shook his head. "Not you yourself. But I was worried you wouldn't be able to beat your own demons." He gaze an uneasy smile, remembering the screams.

The bombardment of thoughts and feelings were visible on his face as he let out a shaky sigh, hugging Angel tightly, the demon seeming to melt away. But as Lucifer's comment registered, he tensed, eyes trailing to him, turning sharp like daggers, then drifted to Shade, keeping his jaw still.
Dozorce looked at Zlo, gauging, and he couldn't sit still any longer. They had all turned too human for his taste. Without a second of hesitation, he charged at Lucifer, reaching to pull Shade away.

Looking away when Zlo glances at her, she keeps her gaze emotionless, though her jaw clenches
"Stop him." Lucifer murmurs to her, red eyes finding Dozorce as he charges, watches as Shade steps in front of him
Gritting her teeth at the order, she sighs but steps forward, wings unfurling, eyes flashing black "Stop. Or do you want him to kill your son?" She murmurs, linked to Lucifer "That's his way of retaliating, you know. He'll kill the weakest of the two."
Chuckling, Lucifer steps up behind her, arms wrapping around her torso, eyes flicking between the two demons ahead of him "See this? She's mine. And if you touch her, I'm not sure it'll just be me out for your head. Am I wrong?" he asks, glancing towards Zlo

Dozorce froze, eyes sharpening as his jaw ticked, a low growl building in his chest.
"Im scared.. Can we go home?"
"Dozorce, enough," Zlo murmured, picking up his daughter and standing, eyes trained a moment on Shade, thoughts flickering across his gaze before they fade to determination as they moved to Lucifer. If the situation was eating at him or phasing him, he didn't show it. "Don't risk your boy's life. It's not worth it."
Dozorce whirled towards Zlo, startled by his change in demeanor and objective, having known what Zlo was after in the beginning. "You can't be--"
"Now isn't the time," Zlo interrupted. "Go find your son. Let this go." His golden brown eyes find Dozorce's, his demeanor changed and oddly gauging.
Dozorce frowned,brows drawing tightly together, jaw twitching as something registered, and like that he moved away, pale eyes looking through Zlo.

Feeling the bed dip, Carter pauses before slowly turning towards him, vibrant blue eyes meeting the violet ones squarely, small half smile "It's odd."

"I really wouldn't." Shade murmurs quietly to Dozorce at his growl, blocking Lucifer
"Im scared.. Can we go home?"
"Dozorce, enough. Don't risk your boy's life. It's not worth it."
Eyes flicking to Zlo a moment, she looks away just as quick "He's right. And you're scaring the girl."
"You can't be--"
"Now isn't the time. Go find your son. Let this go."
Laughing as the scene folds out before him, Lucifer watches, red eyes full of interest. Stepping forward with Shade, he smirks, red irises finding Zlo's as he kisses her cheek "Puppets, the lot of you. So easy to control, all it takes are loved ones. Now Zlataan. I have things we need to discuss, things that concern your daughter's freedom."
Stiffening, Shade turns to face the devil, breaking free of his arms "What are you doing? That wasn't part of the deal. The deal was you get me for a bride and you gave his daughter back. Cut and dry."
"Hush." Lucifer snaps, eyes flashing red as he grabs her by the throat, turns her to face the others, calm smirk as he holds her off the floor "Shall we talk?"
