Dozorce led Carter in silence to the boardwalk, knowing that when things go wrong, his sons always went to water, just like their mothers. Weaving through the lingering people, his pale eyes flicked around before they spotted Riad leaning against the railing looking over the water, his head in his hands.
"Riad," he said quietly, and Riad started and straightened, looking at Dozorce, gaze moving to Carter.
Slightly confused, he murmured. "Dad. Carter." Riad hesitated, though looking at Carter, then down, he said, "Sorry for running out..."

"It's alright." Carter murmurs softly before hesitating, stepping closer to him as his mouth opens "Can we talk though? Are you okay?.." blue eyes searching his face, he pauses a moment, mixed emotions crossing his face, irises slightly dilated from the amount he drank, small glance towards Dozorce "Can we have a moment?.."

"It's alright. Can we talk though? Are you okay?.."
Riad gave a small pained chuckle and shrugged. "I've had worse moments in time, surprisingly." He ran a hand over his face. "Finding out my brother is mixed up in a god-awful mess that lead him to killing, and then learning my father is still around, I'm holding up."
"Can we have a moment?.."
Dozorce didn't say a word, but gave an understanding nod, stepping away and busying himself by looking at some of the stands nearby.

Flinching slightly, Carter's jaw ticks a moment, steps towards him, arm wrapping around his waist "I'm sorry." he murmurs quietly "For being an ass and making you leave."
"Can we have a moment?.."
"Thank you." he shoots Zor's way before looking back to Riad "I..."

Riad leaned against him a bit, his arm wrapping around his shoulder. "It's not your fault, really." He looked out over the water. "No one's fault but mine and my father's, if you think about it..."

Riad looked at him, studying, and didn't respond for a moment. "Like me....? You mean a demon?" he asked quietly, though he didn't react how the others predicted him to.

Riad studied him, leaning against the railing and clasping his hands together, looking at his hands. "I'm not sure I know of a way to do it without chancing who you are..." He paused a moment, formulating his response. "Sometimes when someone is changed, they're changed forever. Take Zlo, for example. Before his change, he was a really nice guy. Polite, a holy man. Then he asked for the transformation, and it changed him completely."
He looked at Carter. "Are you sure you want that? Trading your mortality with the chance of losing your humanity?"

I lost that the night she died. No, actually, I lost it when-" voice faltering, he shakes his head slowly "That's a risk i'm willing to take. For you."

Riad wrapped his arms around him and kissed his forehead. "If you'll have me, yes." He gave a small smile, trying to turn over in his head how to help Carter become like him. But a part of him was still uncertain.
