The reply was a small shake of her head. "Not since then, no. Even though I fear it, I can't let it go." Her eyes flicked towards the front door towards the red shoes. Her eyes returned to the pan and she flipped the egg.
"But it's the past. It can never change." Her hand touched her shoulder again, massaging the ghost flicker of pain away.

Kale reached over and grabbed a pinch before sprinkling it on top of his omelet, careful not to make a mess.

His gaze lifted slowly to hers after a moment. He was unsure how it would go, but if he saw what he thought- then maybe things would be ok. But then again would she understand? He wouldn't show her everything...just enough for her to glimpse. "I need to show you something. But not here- after we eat."

She studied him, nodding in response and began to eat. "All right."
However, inside her heart was pounding. Was something wrong? Had he seen? She wasn't sure, but she didn't allow it to show.

Satisfied with her nod, as well as relieved, he followed suit. Taking small bites he ate faster for several reasons. One he was hungry, two it was good, and three.. well the anxiety to get it over and show her was pooling in the pit of his stomach.

Once she finished, she took her plate to the sink and rinsed it off, looking at the plant in the windowsill. She lightly touched the leaves before turning towards her room.
"I'll be ready in just a second."
She stepped in and quietly closed the dthe, changing from her shorts to a pair of torn but comfortable jeans, slipping out of her jacket and put on a half sleeve flowy shirt, replacing her jacket with a light gray one. Rune then walked to the mirror, running the brush through her hair, tying it back again anangrier to ignore the little edges that peeked out from the fabric.
Once finished, she stepped back out.

Kale nodded as he pushed his plate forward and chair back simoustanously. "Alright. " He too needed to get a few things. Walking to the room, he felt each step grow heavier with his anxiousness. After he had managed to open the door, he reached for the scarf and slung it around his neck loosely, the two ends laying across his chest. Walking out, he grabbed his jacket on the way.
