Raising his head, Elias stiffened, eyes widening, and he darted forward in a blur, getting between Eva and Shade. He stood partially sideways with his tail out and sharpened as it poised towards her, the air around him becoming like static. "Stay away from her," he growled lowly, eyes sharp and vivid.

Elias tensed, tail flicking, a small flame showing at the tip of it. "Touch her and I'll rip you apart." His voice lowered and dripped with poison, his stance widening and his canines sharpening. "I don't care if you're my brother's friend or what's-his-face's play thing."

Riad leaned back, letting him have his space, gaze trained on the ground. "I'm sorry, Carter. If there was a way I could've kept her here, I would have. But she left on her own accord..." Gritting her teeth, Shade stills at the sight of the flame, slowly smirking at his words, straightens with a laugh, eyes sharp "I may be his plaything, but what does that make her to you? Is she not nothing more than a plaything? A lowly human? Come on. She could never meet our standards."
Flinching, Eva's gaze wavers before she steps out from behind Elias "Don't pretend to know what humans are capable of. You used to be one. Or did you forget." she mutters, arm swinging forward to slap her

We all are. So. Pipe. Down."

Riad nodded, standing to move towards the door as the sensation started driving him mad, but froze when Carter disappeared, hand frozen before he touched the doorknob.

Riad listened to the conversation, resting his forehead against the door and closed his eyes. No, it wasn't them. He couldn't blame them. It wasn't their fault.

"Then what is she to you?" Shade hisses, eyes flashing green when the girl goes to strike her before stilling when Carter appears out of no where, grits her teeth, looking away with a snort at his words

Gasping, Eva's eyes widen at the look in Carter's as it finds her before she tries to jerk free, uncomfortable with the blue haze that seems to lick at her wrist

Eyes flicking to him as the flames fade, Carter releases her, blue glow receding back into his skin "Fine. Just, stop." he mutters, eyes flicking towards Riad's room, gaze wavering

Elias gently wrapped his arm around Eva, pulling her back away from Shade, shooting her a sharp look as he tucked his tail away. Then, his eyes traveled to Carter, then to Riad's room, and quietly he said Carter, "I'm not one to normally care since my and my brother's mishaps, but as of right now, someone needs to get him to open his chops and let go." He paused as he fought with his words, remembering. "He did this shortly after Dad left and before my...protest, and it made him a ticking bomb."
"I'm fine, Elias," Riad said as he stepped out, burying it all. "It's just been a very long day."

Riad looked at him, offering a small smile. "I'll get over it. Just a lot to soak in."
Elias stared at his brother with a sharp gaze. "Li-"
"Elias, please." His gaze snapped to Elias, tightening at the corners.
Mouth snapping shut he tensed, gaining a look of aggravation while bristling. But the tension nearly fled as he watched Ri when his steady appearance cracked as his eyes went to the lump that hid beneath the collar of Elias's shirt. Forced to pull out a chair and lower himself down with a heavy thud, his gaze traveled to the floor as his elbow rested on the table, a hand over his mouth. Elias's hand went to the stone underneath, brow creasing as he knew that Riad had recognized it.

Something shuddered in Riad's back, and for a moment he didn't move, eyes focusing on the air they were just staring through. Elias's gaze snapped to Carter, sharp and questioning, then flicked to Shade in question.
Riad remained still, though his hand lowered and he avoided Carter's gaze, expression tightening. "None of this is your fault," he said quietly, something registering as his tired lavender eyes slid to him. "The one at fault should've been dead."
Elias looked back at Riad, putting himself between them and Eva, watching.

Riad pushed himself up from the seat, his demeanor changing sharply even despite the unrest inside to the one that Elias was formerly familiar with as his eyes flashed. "I know," he said to Shade. "The static was the first to change." As he faced Carter, he looked sturdier, taking after his father a little more. "As I said, the one at fault should've been dead," he repeated, "but it seems that like what's happened to Zlo, you've taken refuge in another."
