"Abel...that's quite the uncommon name. Its a pleasure to meet you Abel. Shall we drink?"
"Quite," he beamed, smile lopsided in a dimpled kind of way. "The pleasure is mine." Abel lifted his glass and took a drink, still studying her closely now that he could see her features. She was lovely, though he'd be lying if he didn't say the hair suited her. "What shall I call you, beautiful?"

"What shall I call you, beautiful?"
Waiting patiently she eyeballed him, lifting her glass in his direction as a sort of toast. The moment he took a sip she moved it towards her mouth-pausing at the question. What should she tell him? People have betrayed her time and time again regardless of what reason. So she had never revealed her true name. Nope- he was nice but she still couldnt bring herself to. Head tilting she shrugged slowly. "Whatever you wish to I suppose." Dipping the glass back she took a long sip, eyes widening ever so slightly. A triad of flavors hit her tongue. First she felt the familiar burn of the liquor touch her throat. But she could hardly tell it was there due to the mint and coconut mixing beautifully. Not one flavor overpowered the others- and the liquid itself was smooth going down. Pulling the glass away a small smile touched her features as her tongue over her bottom lip. "Well Abel- I can certainly say that was a suprise."

"Whatever you wish to I suppose."
A thoughtful hum came from him as he eyed her. To an untrained eye, it could've been seen as her being coy. But Abel recognized that sort of response-- he used it once or twice himself, so it was a familiar tactic. Since this was the case, how could he refer to her? Of course, Beautiful would've been acceptable since she certainly was. However, it didn't....fit. Then, there was a quirk of his mouth. Abel felt like toying with her, and he was certainly biased towards winter diction.
"Well Abel- I can certainly say that was a surprise."
"I'm glad you like it, North," he grinned, his cup poised to take a drink. "It's the tavern's signature drink, and certainly one that I have the recipe memorized for." Now, his lips pressed glass and he took a good drink himself, then sat the glass back down on the table. "I hope it held up to those rumors you heard?"

Cerria sat there sipping on her drink, sloshing the liquid around occasionally. Her eyes remained on him as he thought it over, eyebrow raising at his expression. Part of her regreted telling him to pick-but at the same time she was always curious to see what people came up with.
"I'm glad you like it, North,"
Stilling she blinked, drink suspended mid air as she processed the name. Sighing she leaned back in her chair-mixed feelings written on her face. She was amused at the name, and it wasnt hard to guess why he picked it. Obviously he was messing with her-but there was an undeniable fondness when he spoke. "Well I'm surprised you didnt use something sexist to name me, and honestly I'm grateful."
"It's the tavern's signature drink, and certainly one that I have the recipe memorized for.I hope it held up to those rumors you heard?"
"I can see why- you've certainly maintained the image." Taken aback she blinked-multiple responses on her tongue. Well he went through all the trouble to indulge her, she didn't the harm in telling one truth. "As I said you have surprised me. The drink exceeded my expectations, and I have quite enjoyed myself. Its not every day I say that, so you should feel honored." Finishing off her drink in one go- she sat the glass in front of him as she pulled her hood back up. "Well Abel its been a pleasure. Thank you for joining me" Standing she placed a few coins in his hand.Turning she walked away a few feet before stopping, head turned towards him face hidden by her cloak. "North...Its a fitting name." With that she walked out, finding lodging on her agenda.

"Well I'm surprised you didnt use something sexist to name me, and honestly I'm grateful."
Now, he frowned a little. "For anyone who takes advantage of that in that way, I will find them and teach them a lesson." Surprisingly enough, he genuinely sounded upset at the notion, but tried to keep it reeled in. The only evidence of something having affected him was a small drop in temperature in the air, but it quickly heated back up to normal.
"I can see why- you've certainly maintained the image. As I said you have surprised me. The drink exceeded my expectations, and I have quite enjoyed myself. Its not every day I say that, so you should feel honored."
Abel's expression brightened again at the compliment. His grin was lopsided and revealed a dimple, and he was sitting a little straighter. "That delights me. I do, in fact, feel honored, and will happily accept the complement." There was a certain fondness growing at her smile and the brightened look to her face. She looked a little more alive than what she did when he first saw her. It was a step in the right direction, he thought.
"Well Abel its been a pleasure. Thank you for joining me."
The sudden weight in his hand took him by surprise, and his eyes found the coin before they found her, catching her face from under her cloak one more time as she looked back. Abel was caught in headlights a moment, a fish out of water, when she stepped out, and he stood up quickly, but couldn't find any words. He watched her leave, but before he could do anything else, he was called back to work by Eowynn, who instructed him to clean up his mess and return back to work. He scowled a little towards her, looked back to the door, to his hand, then, with a heavy sigh, gathered their dishes and returned back to work.
It was going to be a long six hours.

"That delights me. I do, in fact, feel honored, and will happily accept the complement."
Unknowingly smiling to herself, Cerria walked down the path in a better mood than what she had woken up with. Turning she stopped, leaning against a wall a few streets up.
"For anyone who takes advantage of that in that way, I will find them and teach them a lesson."
Lips parting her cheeks reddened as she remembered his words back there. Mind reeling she ran it through her head once more trying to understand him. No matter how much she analyzed it she could understand why he would say that to a stranger. He had been genuinely upset by what she had said-though it was the truth. She had met many men who had either sneered at her appearance or made advances. Even while they were sitting there she could feel the hunger in a few of their gazes. Walking to a well she dipped her hands in the water before splashing her face. There was no point in worrying over what happened, she wasn't going to be in this town long. Her eyes drifted skyward as the wind picked up. She really needed to find a place to stay before it grew dark. She debated on if she should find some sucker to leech off of. But truth be told she didn't feel like it tonight. Sighing she continued trudging forward to the edge of the town.

The night certainly stretched on for him.
After the visit with North, he wanted nothing than to go and find her, but he couldn't abandon his job, either. It helped pay the bills, at least, what few bills he had. The work wasn't terrible, or at least wasn't until a bar fight broke out, and he and Eowynn struggled to break it up. It was this instance that Abel said once more, grunting as he tossed one of the unconscious men aside, "We really need a bouncer for this."
To which she replied, "That's what you're for."
When the early hours began to creep up, Eowynn released him from his duties an hour early. She didn't it with the intention to let him go find whoever it was he was thinking about, but by now the notion that he could find North faded away. She's long gone, he thought as he pulled his coat on, stepping out into the street.
He kicked a stone across the way and he started down the dimly lit street. He often forgot how this place seemed timeless-- there were still aspects of architecture that one would find in old European cities, with brick Arch's and old, still functioning Wells and quiet little cottage houses alongside the convenience store on a corner of the street with it's flickering light, the Golden glow of street lamps as they lit up the shadow. Abel had surmised some time ago that it was just like the forest-- time didn't exist, and therefore things just kept happening as events unfold, sometimes looping back on oneself and sometimes sparking a whole new line of events to take a different route.
But for him, he took the same old path home, weaving through the underbelly of the town.

Cerria turned over where she was laying, body curling in on itself. Sometime in the middle of the night, she had finally found a place to rest. Thought it was in the straw of some stable hidden away from the main road. It was a miracle she had enough energy to create a barrier around the place to mask her presence. Her eyes slid open as she heard a noise, quickly getting to her feet. Pulling her hood closer she exited out the back- walking fast but as unnoticeable as she could.

Abel stalked along, his hands buried in pockets as he continued on. The night felt clingy as he breathed the air and an owl hooted nearby, some scurry of footsteps-- He stopped suddenly. What was it he heard? Slowly he turned about and caught a faint glimpse of someone running behind a building, frowning. Who would be running around at this time of night?
Without any hesitation, he began to walk in the direction the figure ran off in.

Cerria stopped to catch her breath leaning against a wall. Inhaling she tensed as cold air hit her lungs. Eyes narrowing in annoyance she stood before looking around. It was still very late, and now she had to find someplace else to sleep. Fleeting thoughts of asking him crossed her brain, but she shot them down quickly. It was bad enough that she had conversed with him.

Abel found no difficulty in keeping up, or finding her after she rounded a corner.
Silently, he walked up to her from opposite of where she was searching the night, his hands stuffed in his pockets and his newsboy hat low on his head. Here, there weren't any streetlamps, but the light of the moon was bright to see. In it's glow, Abel's hair looked more white than the blonde it was at the tavern, his eyes more bright. "Well, if it isn't North," he said gently, a smile playing at his lips with a flash of bright teeth. "Fancy seeing you out this late."

Eyes darting to the right she clutched her knife under her cloak. She thought she had imagined it, but now she was positive that someone was following her. But why? She had taken the extra precaution of not standing out. Was it because she had slipped and shown her face. No that shouldn't matter, for even what was shown wasnt her true appearance. Once the body was close enough her arm raised in defense as a face filled her vision.
"Well, if it isn't North, Fancy seeing you out this late."
Eyes widening she stopped her movements, knife a few inches from his waist. Speechless her grip loosened, knife clattering to the ground. "Speak of the devil." She muttered before stepping back to retrieve it. "Why are you following me.?"

"Speak of the devil. Why are you following me.?"
"Well, it so happens I live out this way." The reply came quick and easy, without much thought. "I noticed someone wandering around and curious-- it's not often people stay out in the streets this late." His gaze followed her as she retrieved the knife, and his fists in his pockets loosened just a little. The knife was spotted whirling towards him, but Abel gave it a benefit of a doubt in case.
He was glad he did.
It took a moment for him to gather his thoughts, and gather the pieces of information he had in front of him. So it was someone sleeping in that nook. And that someone had to have been her-- she had a couple of pieces stuck to her cloak. Which then meant, she had nowhere to go. "If you're looking for a place to sleep, I have a spare bedroom," he ventured after a moment. "It would be more comfortable than some straw or hay."

"Oh." Unsure what else to say she brushed her knife off before straightening. Feeling his eyes on her she tensed, quickly putting the knife up, eyes downcast. "Sorry, I-" she shook her head, trying to find the words. What could she have said? I'm sorry I almost stabbed you? I thought you were going to attack me.Nothing would have helped the situation she had gotten herself into.
"If you're looking for a place to sleep, I have a spare bedroom. It would be more comfortable than some straw or hay."
"What?" She turned to him, slightly confused. Replaying the sentence her eyes jerked to her cloak, before filling with understanding. "Oh this?" Plucking a piece off her cloak she let it flutter to the ground. "I find the smell of straw comforting actually." A smile smile teased her lips. "But it is against the law to trespass. And since the temperature keeps dropping i suppose ill take you up on your offer. If you can do me one thing." She stepped closer watching him.

"Oh. Sorry, I-"
A smile found its way to Abel's lips at her response. So she did get flustered. A part of him did feel a little bad, considering that she could have very well hurt him. However, he was also partially at fault for sneaking up on her.
"What? Oh this? I find the smell of straw comforting actually. But it is against the law to trespass. And since the temperature keeps dropping i suppose ill take you up on your offer. If you can do me one thing."
Watching her in kind, an eyebrow raised in question as his head tilted a little bit. She looked a combination of alluring and dangerous in the lighting, with a sort of sleek elegance that could be deadly if one was not careful. "What sort of favor are you asking, princess?"
