Ace nods and starts towards the door. "Follow me, then. I'll take us out the back way so we won't be seen." He steps into the hall and turns back, waiting for her.

Ace walks through the halls and makes his way towards the back gardens. He passes several servants, who give him a smile and a nod, and they pass otherwise unnoticed. He walks outside and looks around again, alert, then picks a well grown path to the right.

Just as the crossed through the gates of Priya's mansion, Ace quickly reaches around Marisole and pulls Freesia to a stop as he curses quietly, slipping off as Priya turns around at the sound of hoofbeats with Ridge at her side. Once Ace lands he dips his head head, reverting quickly back to the demeanor he takes when he's around her. "My lady," he murmurs.
Priya's expression brightens a little at him, though when she sees Marisole and the horse, it turns into a scowl. "What is the meaning of this, Tayne?"
"I merely went to enjoy the Carni, my lady," he says as he straightens, though his muscles ripple with the name she uses.
"After I've told you to stay away from there? I want you no where near that damn carnival. And what is that best doing here?"
Ace straightens a little. "It was a gift to her from me."
"Why would you give her such a vile thing?" She flicks her hand and starts to turn away. "Guards, seize it."
He whirls and glares at them, daring them to come closer before his gaze flicks back to Priya. "No, you will not," he murmurs, though a threat lies underneath. "They are both mine, and I believe I can do what I wish with them. 'Tis what you said, is it not, my lady?"
She twists and looks at him, gaze sharpening at both his tone and his defiance, though it slides from a scowl to a smirk. "I suppose so. But don't expect that attitude to last, Tayne. Report to Kian as so as you return your toy to your room and that beast to the stables." She turns and shakes her head, glaring ahead as she murmurs to Ridge, "I believe giving him her was a mistake."
Ace holds his demeanor until they've gone inside, and his face slips and pales.

Flinching at the look of anger that crosses Ridge's face upon seeing her, Marisole looks down, hands clutching at the saddle idly before a strangled cry escapes her lips at the queens words, head snapping up. Gaze wavering, she inhales and grips the reins tighter, silently refusing before her eyes widen at Ace's outburst
"No, you will not. They are both mine, and I believe I can do what I wish with them. 'Tis what you said, is it not, my lady?"
"I suppose so. But don't expect that attitude to last, Tayne. Report to Kian as so as you return your toy to your room and that beast to the stables."
"Sir!.. Wait, my queen!.." she whispers, voice faltering when the royals walk inside, shoulders slumping
"I believe giving him her was a mistake."
Scowl crossing his face the moment he spots the horse, Ridge opens his mouth to object before listening to the scene between Priya and her knight, sighing as he wraps an arm around her, leading her up the steps "It's an entertaining mistake, at least."

"Sir!.. Wait, my queen!.."
Ace swallows and lets out a breath, then gently grabs the horse's bridle and steers them towards the stables. "I'm sorry, Marisole," he says quietly. "I hadn't anticipated running into them."
"It's an entertaining mistake, at least."
"One that may have turned my Ace towards the worst," she murmurs, scowling like a child. "He's never talked back to me before. At least, not like that."

"One that may have turned my Ace towards the worst. He's never talked back to me before. At least, not like that."
"If he's talking back to you, than simply punish him." Spades murmurs, sighing, never did like him "Break him at the knees and make him submit. I may have grown tired of the girl, but I never had such problems with her."

"It's not your fault, sir.. You've made her angry.."
He doesn't remark on the anger part as he passes the reins to a stable boy, one of the very few here that Ace relatively likes. "Take good care of the horse, and find a blanket to place with the saddle."
"Yes, sir," the boy replies quietly, holding Freesia still as Ace moves to one side, offering a hand to Marisole.
"I'm to take you back to your room and leave you for a bit. I've some business to take care of, but it shouldn't be long." His voice doesn't waver but it remains quiet and low, and the stable boy gains a look of realization that changes to one of sympathy and fear, knowing Ace's movements well.
"If he's talking back to you, than simply punish him. Break him at the knees and make him submit. I may have grown tired of the girl, but I never had such problems with her."
"That's precisely what's about to happen," she replies, stepping through the main hall and down a hallway. "I hate to drag you with me, Ridgey, but I must let Kian know Ace will be on his way shortly."

Taking his hand, Marisole slowly slides off the horse, eyes wavering as she grips his hand harder, fear crossing her face at his expression "Please... Don't make her angry.." she whispers, voice slipping "I don't want you to get in trouble. If... If getting rid of Freesia will please her, it's okay. Just... Don't stick your neck out just for me, I can't stand it if it's my fault.."
"That's precisely what's about to happen. I hate to drag you with me, Ridgey, but I must let Kian know Ace will be on his way shortly."
"Too tired to dish out the punishment yourself?" Spades murmurs, studying her as they walk, shrugging at her statement "I don't mind."

"For what he's about to receive? No, it won't be from my hand. Kian's far more firmer, and besides, it's time for Tayne to have a reminder about what's at stake, should he decide to lash out again." She stops at a door and opens it, walking down some stairs. At the bottom it opens up to a room, where on one side is a furnished cell and a woman, while on the couch on the other lounges a rather lanky-looking man. "Kian, Tayne will be down shortly."
The man stirs and cracks open a pale eye, a demon tail waving lazily against his leg. "What's he in for?"
"He's forgotten who here has reign," she shrugs. "I want him to remember what we're doing for him, and what he is threatening when he decides to try to overstep his boundary."
He sits up as the woman stirs, hearing Ace's name, and Kian grins a little. "He's actually getting punished this time?"
She snorts with a slight pout. "You know he's my favorite. I want him to kneel, but please, bring no real harm to him. He needs to be in tip-top condition, lest myself or someone else calls for his attention."
Standing with a shake of his head at her ridiculousness, he snorts. "I'll keep that in mind."
"Where's my boy?" the woman croaks quietly, sitting up in the bed.
"Oh, he'll be down soon," Kian calls, his mouth quirking up.

Priya gestures for him to follow back up the stairs. "They are fairly nice to have around for the dirty work," she replies, looking towards him as he asks about the woman. "She's the very thing that helps keep Ace in line. That's his mother, or what's left of her after the poltergeist attack years ago." She faces forward again. "Kian enjoys her company and keeps her alive, though he isn't allowed to do anything more unless he gains permission from me."

"I suppose so." Ridge replies, frown still on his face as he follows her out, stiffening when two figures suddenly appear in front of them once they reach the throne room, pulling Priya behind him "What is the meaning of this?"
"Heart." Graz murmurs, pale eyes finding hers as he steps forward, hand still around Shade's mouth "It's been a while."
Struggling against the arms around her, Shade goes to bite his fingers, crying out when he shifts his hand and pushes on her broken wing, slumping against him as tears of anger prick at the pain

Ace stares after her, conflicted, then he swallows roughly and turns on his heel. He starts walking towards the stairs, trying to steel himself for what may come.
"I suppose so. What is the meaning of this?"
"Heart. It's been a while."
Her expression turns to near boredom as her gaze falls on Graz. "Well well, what a pleasant surprise to see you here, Graz." Her chocolate eyes slide to Shade, and a brow arches. "What have you here?"
