Rune was silent a moment, then gently stepped away from Kale, looking around. "It was my sister's favorite place," she murmured quietly, her gaze softening as she reminisced, though the moment that the bad flickered forward, she shut out the past in a heartbeat.

Kale watched her eyes softening with sadness. He too- knew what it was like to lose something precious. Confusion flicked across his face as she seemed to do a 180 on her emotions.
"She loved it here."
Kale walked up to her quietly and grabbed her hand gently before looking out over the cliff. "What was her name?"

"Rune and Ademius...your parents picked out some intriguing names. " He looked at her after a second with studying eyes. After a moment he replied. "No, I tend to use this one most though." after a moment he sat down on the edge with a guarded gaze. "Is that why you hate fire? Your sister?"

She laughed lightly. "That they did."
"No, I tend to use this one most though."
Rune's eyes traveled to him, studying, trying to discern what others he used. Though when he sat and spoke again, she looked away.
"Is that why you hate fire? Your sister?"
She quickly shook her head. "Not because of Ade, no," she murmured, wrapping her arms around herself. "No, she was the reason I survived. It was..." A pause, and Rune shook her head, forcing a smile. "It's not really something to dwell on... I want to get over my fear because of Ademius-- she showed me that fire can be more than destructive, and because of that, I don't want to be afraid anymore." With a short laugh, she shook her head. "But, I don't know if I can get rid of that fear."

Kale turned his head to her, listening to the sound of her laugh. She sounded more like herself when she laughed.
"Not because of Ade, no. No, she was the reason I survived. It was...It's not really something to dwell on... I want to get over my fear because of Ademius-- she showed me that fire can be more than destructive, and because of that, I don't want to be afraid anymore. But, I don't know if I can get rid of that fear."
"She sounds like a great sister. " He stares up at the sky quietly, as he listened to her. After a few seconds he closed his eyes. He knew firsthand how destructive fire could be- how fast it could consume you. Standing up he turned to face her. "I'm sure you will one day. She was right- its not only destructive." He smiled sadly at her before touching his scarf. "Thank you for coming out here with me, but I should let you get back." Truthfully he enjoyed her company but he to figured that he should get going.

Rune studied him, her expression falling just a little as fear flared in her chest, but she smiled anyway. "Of course. But, I've nothing planned or going on, truthfully.. Most of what my days consist of is walking down to the beach under the pier and walking the boardwalk."

She looked away. "It's rare that I actually sleep." Instead of sleeping, she often times meditated, but even then that wasn't enough.

Silently she followed, pausing at the edge of the field when they arrived. Her earthy eyes followed him and his movements, meeting his gaze as he laid back. Her memory painted his image in place, his teal eyes and dark hair, his expression and his stature.
