After a moment Ri's face crumples and he presses his forehead against Carter's, eyes squeezing shut as he battles the screams that seem to grow louder in his head. His lips purse and he takes an unsteady breath. "I don't want it to change," he whispers. "And I don't want you to go."

"It's not going to change, and I'm not going to leave you." Carter whispers, barely audible as he watches him, blue eyes wavering "Even if you lose control and tell me to go, I won't. I'd bring you back, whatever it took. But Ri.. I can't do it alone, you have to fight.."

"I'm trying.." He takes a breath and straightens a little, looking towards the phone on the wall. "I need to make a call," he murmurs, resisting the urge to look at Zlo. "We've got to move him, and I know of a place where he....where he can rest."

Riad reaches out and presses a hand to the wall, then grabs the phone and dials in a number. "Everyone else calls her the undertaker, but she's not as menacing as that sounds," he murmurs. "She was the former owner of the bar."

He musters a small smile. "I didn't always own this bar." He brings the phone to his ear, resting his forehead against his other hand until he hears a click at the other end. "Ammiras?"

"It just didn't ever cross my mind that there was a time you didn't." Carter murmurs, eyes wavering as he looks away, still trying to get used to the idea of immortality and being a demon
He brings the phone to his ear, resting his forehead against his other hand until he hears a click at the other end. "Ammiras?"
"Riad." She murmurs, smoke rolling past her lips as she presses her ear to the phone, irises changing colors slowly, eyes closing as lips brush her shoulder, sitting on the edge of the bed in her abode "What can I do for you?"

Riad takes a breath to steady himself, suddenly feeling light headed as the weight of it all starts to settle on his shoulders. "There's been a mishap," he murmurs, eyes closing a moment. "At the bar. I..." Another steadying breath. "I've someone that needs to be laid to rest."

Eyes snapping open, Ammiras sits there for a few seconds silently, unmoving before her breath hisses out "I'll be there as fast as I can, alright? Give me five minutes." she mutters, hanging up so she may stand

Wordlessly he hangs the phone up, hand lingering a moment as he fights with the screaming again, then he straightens and lets go. "I need to sit down," he says quietly, pulling away from Carter to sit on the stool closest to him. He runs a hand over his face, then reaches over and grabs the bottle of rum that he had sitting out before the fight and takes the glass Carter had used and pours himself a hefty shot. He places the bottle back on the counter and picks up the glass, swirling the contents around in it, but doesn't drink it yet, gaze both pained and exhausted. His other hand reaches out and grasps Carter's, fingers intertwining with his loosely.

Eyes closing, Ammiras inhales slowly, skin changing rapidly until she's under the guise of a man with pierced ears, blue eyes, and a firm jaw, dressed casual in a suit. Clicking her tongue, she watches as a wolf like creature steps from the shadows and kneels before her on all paws, silent as she climbs onto it's back
"I need to sit down,"
"Maybe you should sleep, Riad.." Carter murmurs quietly, fear crossing his gaze as he watches him, gaze trained on the bottle of booze, hand tightening in his "I know how hard it is to fight him.."

He stares at the glass a moment longer before his face scrutches up slightly. The glass lets out a quiet click he he sets it back down, scooting it away from him and runs that hand over his face. "I nearly forgot how much I disliked him," he says quietly, hand propping his head up as he studies the grain on the bar counter. "Him and his damned power."

Hesitating, Carter looks away from him then back slowly, gaze trained on his shirt, face pale, trying to ignore the alcohol "Well... Without him, I wouldn't be here.." he murmurs, trying to make light of the situation
Holding on as the wolf takes off, Ammiras keeps her eyes closed until the wind stops hitting her face, opens her eyes and sighs softly at the state of the bar. Exhaling, she slides off the wolf and walks up to the door, knocking

At the small remark, Riad's face relaxes just a little and a tiny side smile found its way to his lips. "You are right about that," he murmurs. At the knock, his head raises and looks towards the door, then he waves his hand as he calls out, recognizing the vibe of the figure outside, "It's unlocked."
