Zlo looked away at Shade's first remark, though at Angel's proclamation, he looked at her. "No, I'm not sick." He gave a smile, expression relaxed for the first time. "Not at all. Now, about those sandwiches, what kind do you want?"

Zlo grinned and stood, lifting her and placing her on his shoulders. "Then hang tight, and I'll make some grilled sandwiches." He walked over to the bar's grill, looking around and pulling out the stuff, and started making them. "Do you two want anything?"

"We're fine, thank you anyway." Shade replies hurriedly to Zlo before she pulls Carter up by the hand, pulls him to the back room, door shutting behind them

Zlo turned and watched them as they stepped into the other room with confusion and slight suspicion. However, he pushed it to the side and worked on the sandwiches for Angel. Once he finished them, he cut one up into triangles for her, setting it on the counter and lifting her from his shoulders and setting her down. "Here you go, sweetheart."

"Thank you." says before she bows her head a moment. Once it was lifted though, she took a big bite out of one half- at least as big as her mouth would allow. After she had swallowed it her face lit up and she smiled at him. "Daddy's sandwiches are still yummy."

Zlo frowned a little, studying her, then looked at Angel. "Make sure to eat most of it, m'kay? I need to talk to Shade a moment." He leaned and kissed the top of the littler girl's head then stepped over towards the other seats, gently pulling Shade with him. He turned to her. "What's wrong?"

Glancing at Angel, she hesitates, pursing her lips with a sigh, points at the door to Riad's office/apartment "He's laying in there, on the bed, in pain. But Zlo. I checked him out, his soul, and it's not just his in there." pausing, she tilts her head "And he's not the little weakling Riad fell for. Not if he tried to take me head on and I struggled to keep him back."
