"She said I was never meant to be a demon. For lack of a better word." he grits out, jerks, groans "That we we're hunters, we hunt demons, not love them. That if I wished to turn into a demon she'd have to kill me..." inhaling sharply, he gasps, hunched over "But it wasn't her, right?..."

Riad's faced paled a little as he sat completely, studying. "I... She..." He took a slow breath as he put two and two together. "Lucifer was being hunted. That's why he had Elias kill her," he murmured, a hand running through his hair, conflicted. "I'm not sure, but this," he gestured to Carter, watching his eyes, "the changing of color, the pain, I've never seen it before during a change, but I have during a partial occupation of another soul."
He paused, venturing. "I think it was her, Carter," he said quietly after a few heartbeats, voice low and uncertain. "That's the only explanation for this, which means..." Riad swallowed hard, partial fear and regret filling his gaze. "She's trying to kill you...Because of me..."

"What?..." Carter asks, mismatched eyes flicking to his, gaze full of pain "How is that even possible?"
"I think it was her, Carter. That's the only explanation for this, which means... She's trying to kill you...Because of me..."
Trembling, he grits his teeth and looks down, hands finding their way to his face "Then we stop her before she can." he whispers, voice cracking, tears slipping out between his fingers "Get someone to do away with her soul... Or mine, since that's how she's occupying me."

Riad tensed. "I-I don't know how to, not without upsetting her soul or destroying either of you. She's mad enough at demons, she doesn't need another reason to hate us." He paused, scrambling for a solution, heart breaking at the sight of Carter in pain. "Maybe we could talk to her, ease her fears, show her that not all of us are evil beings. That like humans, we have our times of evil and good and often need guidance or mercy."

Laughing bitterly, he shakes his head "I'm sure she knows that, deep down. But right now, she's more focused on the memory of dying." he mutters, eyes slowly raising to his, groans as his right eye turns completely brown, clutches head, losing to her will a moment "I want to talk to the blind one. Your brother." he states firmly, gasping when she let's go, unable to control him for more than a minute or so

Riad started at the change of tone, staring. "I'm not sure where he is, Rima," he says, talking past Carter and to her, hoping she'll here. "There's too much happening. If you can give us some time, it'll let us track him down and get him sitting down someplace without a fight about to break out." he paused, looking down. "he's not on good terms with everyone at this moment in time."

Riad let out a sigh of relief, hands jamming through his hair as his head hung, and he shook it. "It's better than nothing," he murmured, fingers locking behind his head. "I knew something bad would happen. Deep down I knew it." His breath hissed out. "I'm sorry for all of this, Carter..."
